Benvenuto to A.W.E.D Italiano

I know for many, Italy reminds of the Mafia, of the Dons ( No not SRK ), the drug trafficking or in short - Marlon Brando and Al Pacino thanks to Godfather. For many others it would be the land signifying the epitome of scenic beauty and culture/history - the proof thrown by way of Colosseum , the Amphitheaters, Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano and more. The art and architecture of Italy is a beauty worth absorbing but then thats a discussion for some other forumn/group/blog. What I am going to concentrate on absorbing is their food.



Ahh! The bliss of Italian Cuisine is something which cannot be confined to few lines. It has been adopted throughout the world with much fun and fare and sometimes it becomes so imbibed in some other culture that they become one! I mean how many knew in the beginning that Pizza was not American at first? With the statistics that "Americans eat approximately 100 acres of pizza each day, or 350 slices per second." one can only gape at wonder how imbibed it has become in here. The pastas, arborios, pizzas, tiramisu, risotto's, bruschetta's..aaah! The list is endless - I know for this one, I dont need to give you any links cos you know better!!!!!

So what are the rules ? Please do read the rules carefully since I get e-mails with Non-Vegetarian recipes. But I accept only Vegetarian recipes and thats what makes this Event different. Making dishes vegetarian at the same time capturing the essence of different cuisines is what makes the language of Food Universal.

1) Make any dish – be it Appetizer, Main Course , Snack or Dessert ( do mention that in your blog) - Vegetarian/Vegan and post the same in your blog /site and link it back to the announcement. Feel free to use the logo.

2) Multiple entries are more welcome than ever, since more the recipes, more the choices available to all of us.

3) Take a snap showcasing your creation and send it across with a size of 300 X 300 pixels.

4) Send me your “Name”, “Recipe”, “Recipe URL” and “Photo” to : i.am.awed@gmail.com ( thats i(dot)am(dot)awed(at)gmail(dot)com )

5) Last date for the entries are Aug 15th 2008.

6) Not having a blog is no excuse to let you get away with your tasty creations. So Non-Bloggers pls do send me the same details as above to the mail given.
