A.W.E.D M.E.N.U

What is A.W.E.D ? Do I mean awed - to be inspired by the sheer beauty of what you see? Or do I mean it as an acronym for "A Worldly Epicurean’s Delight" ? Well its both. The fact that cultures beyond one's boundaries and their habits concentrating esp with the universal factor Food is mind boggling enough to be AWED by every epicurean.

Any lover of Food would surely agree to me that more the borders crossed, more the essence of food realised. That being said, my motive in starting this event was exactly that - Go beyond my comfort level, get to know more about regions unknown and far away but which I believed will be bought closer to me by the magnitude of so many people involved from all corners of the world. The variety, the new ingredients, a new methodology which I have been introduced to through this event so far has been impressive to say the least. To get a gist of what I am talking about, take this journey so far of the countries we have travelled and conquered together.

A.W.E.D goes into new adobe every month now where creative chef's will handle it in their own unique way. Check out new Avatar's of new hosts for the coming months

List of Past Events and RoundUps

1) A.W.E.D - The Curtain Raiser With Mexico

We travelled first to the land of fiestas - Viva Mexico. The reason for choosing this first is the variety to the intense flavours, spices involved, the colorful spread that it offers is not only eye catching but also the fact that it is very very similar to my own cuisine Indian - a home away from home when it comes to food - So I wanted to kickstart this event with Mexican cuisine.

The round up proved that, many think just the way I do. Look at the spread and you will agree too. Check the Mexican Menu here.

2) A.W.E.D - Taking a Camel Ride with Middle Eastern

Middle East may be a land with no clear cut borders but its cuisine has specific borders encompasing so many cultural variations and essence added to it within itself. From Pita breads to hummus, its food is joy to every beholder. This event was guest hosted by my pal Siri and check out the intro and the round up here.

3)A.W.E.D - Land of the Ching and the Changs - China

Or should have i said the Yin and the Yangs? ;-) The minute I think Chinese cuisine, I think of stir fry's, steaming, the intricate yet obviously simple way of cooking maximising on the benefits of food that we consume. Is there anything more to it? Was there something which we dint think of? To know that, we need to check out the spread here.

Round up yet to come

5) A W E D - American - Land of Multicultures and Statue of Liberty

What do you end up thinking when you think of America - Pizza?Fries? Hamburgers? Mac n Cheese? Tex-Mex? The vast cultural influence that this country has, is unsurpassed by any other - me thinks. That being said, cooking for American cuisine is pretty simple and straightforward. I asked - "What do you think? What do you feel? What is your take on it?" and you answered like a pro with your recipes galore.

Check out AWED American round up here

6) AWED Thailand - Land of White Elephant

Thai cuisine is also about correct amalgamation of five fundamental flavors - Hot, Sour, Sweet, Bitter and Salty. The correct balance of this enhances the dish to new heights

Round of up A.W.E.D Thai here

7) A.W.E.D - French - Land of Eiffel Tower, Museums and Rich Desserts

The French cuisine needs no introduction. From their rich sauces to scrumptious desserts, they are one of the most sought after cuisines today. You think Gourmet - You think French. Their vast usage of herbs is one of the biggest plus points for me.
