I have been quite apprehensive about cooking in my microwave subjecting it to a very minimal use like re-heating,thawing etc. Oh, I can hear 'tch tch', 'what a absolute waste of m/w' comments , sigh!. Call me old school or plain paranoid, I guess I am just that - paranoid. Anyways after reading Bee's microwave write up i felt a little better although there was this small issue of putting that teeny weeny toe across the 'lets start' line.
Now srivalli's has gone and given me an opportunity to make my first attempt and since its snacks, it gives me a absolute chance to take something in small qty and go ahead with full fervor. This was my maiden attempt at this recipe and I have to say it came out pretty good and yummy just as same as I do it in my oven. And yeah it took even less time than in Oven. This is my entry for MEC-Snacks
Who doesnt have left over bread in their house - hey I am not going to make Bread Upma here. I know that every bread upma recipe starts with the same line as this...but this one is little different :) . Every one have their own comfort foods. I like mine savoury ( crunch munch ) and that which I dont have to cook! Sadly, we never have snacks around the house, thanks to a hubby who runs around with 'Home Food is the Best and Healthiest' tag. So what takes less time, vv.v.v.v less effort but taste delish! Cinnamon Crisps is it! This is a recipe from my cookbook and which I used to do in Oven which took about 10-15 min. I made this in M/W and bingo, it took 3 min for me.
My special thanks to Srivalli for making this happen for me :) Now to the recipe
Method
1. Mix butter, powdered sugar and cinnamon together.
2. Blend well
3. Coat this on both the sides of the bread.
4. Cut the slices into vertical pieces - thick or thin. Ur preferance.
5. PLace it in a M/W plate and keep it in High for 3 min. I find M/W timings vary from one to another. so make regular check not to let it burn
6. Cool it completely. It turns out all aromatic and crispy. It keeps well if stored in air tight container.Another tea-time snack.
