"I love you Not only for what you are,But for what I am When I am with you.I love you,Not only for what You have made of yourself,But for what You are making of me...."
Valentine's Day! I have heard comments from certain people that it is but a sham. Their school of thought voices out that if you really are in love, then it should be celebrated all round the year and not only on one day. Agreed! But I personally feel that Valentine's day is not just about expressing one's love, but it is about celebrating the fact that, the minute you hear about Lover's day, your mind automatically without your knowledge seeks out ur loved one's face and brings unknown happiness like no other.
"....I love you For the part of me That you bring out; I love you For putting your hand Into my heaped-up heart, And passing over All the foolish, weak things That you can't help Dimly seeing there,....."
What is that mechanism called? How does that chemistry work? How does a person who just came to know you all of a sudden makes so much impact? Valentine's day marks the celebration of all this, a day which makes us think and wonder and get amazed by all this phenomenon.
"...And for drawing out Into the light All the beautiful belongings That no one else had looked Quite far enough to find I love you because you Are helping me to make Of the lumber of my life Not a tavern But a temple...."
ok coming to my pantry.I had a packet of 15 bean soup mix lying around for a long while. Weekends always make one crave for snacks and this weekend is no exception. I decided to make use of bean mix and made some cutlets. They are very easy and involve not much of a prep work. The recipe is as below:
* ( The bean mix is a mix of beans and lentils like Lima beans,Navy Beans, black beans, red kidney beans,Black eyed peas, green split peas, pinto beans, garbanzo and so on )
Method
1.Drain the water from the beans completely.
2.Grind the bean mix along with salt, ginger, garlic, mint, onions, cilantro into a coarse mixture with minimum amount of water. It should help you shape it into patties.
3.Add the soy flour and bread crumbs along with mashed potatoes. Mix well.
4.Shape into patties and deep fry. I wanted to make it more healthy, so i lined a baking sheet with aluminium foil, sprayed with PAM Spray and shaped my cutlets into hearts and baked them for close to an hour at 450F after drizzling them a little with Olive oil. The outcome was good although without the scrumptious taste of one when fried. But nevertheless for it being virtually fat free, it made a very good snack.
"...You have done it Without a touch, Without a word, Without a sign. You have done it By being yourself. Perhaps that is what Being a friend(loved one in this case) means,After all."( Roy Croft )
It is of my humble opinion, that the best gift for a special someone would be the gift of Health and Love. Hence my gift for my valentine is a very healthy yet tasty bite of these Bean cutlets made with love - mine; who makes me feel so perfect even with so many imperfections, so happy even with troubles all around - in short makes me love/live life.
It may not look good, it may not be gourmet - but it is what I want it to be - something which says - "I care ".This is my entry to
